David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.
The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
