England's Head Coach Thomas Tuchel has declared that he has "no issue" with Jack Grealish following the trio did not make the Three Lions squad for forthcoming matches against Wales and Latvia.

The midfielder did not earn a recall despite returning from a shoulder injury, while Foden and Grealish also miss out although displaying a return to form with their respective clubs.

The German manager revealed that Bellingham desired to be included of the squad, having spoken with him via telephone.

"Bellingham is a special player, and for special players there can always be exceptions," Tuchel remarked about Bellingham, who's only started once since coming back to fitness.

"But we opted to maintain the simple choice of inviting the same group.

"Jude consistently merits to be here. There is also the situation that he has not fully regained his full rhythm yet at Real Madrid - he has not finished a full match.

"He expressed a desire to be selected. We had a telephone conversation."

The England boss made an effort to emphasize his good rapport with the midfielder following Tuchel said sorry to him previously for describing his conduct during a match as "repulsive" in a live interview.

Tuchel stated that he used the words "unintentionally" and would be more cautious in future.

Inquired if he had any issue with the player, Tuchel responded: "None. There is no issue either with Phil Foden or Grealish.

"Foden is back to impacting and shaping games for Manchester City. Grealish is almost to being back to the top form of himself.

"There is no personal issue."

Bukayo Saka taking the place of the hurt Madueke is the only change to last month's team, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jarell Quansah retaining their places after being late additions last month due to injury.

England face the Welsh team in a friendly at Wembley Stadium on Thursday before a qualifying match in Riga on 14 October.

Should the team triumph in Latvia, they will need a maximum of two points from their final two qualifiers - against Albania and Serbia in November - to secure a spot in the upcoming World Cup in North America.
