The assault caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
