Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans offered sympathy for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
